PA66

Polyamide 66 — polymer and compound — For engineering applications demanding high temperature resistance.

Technical view

What is PA66 and what is it for?

PA66 has a melting point roughly 40 °C higher than PA6, along with higher modulus and better creep resistance. That is why it is preferred in parts exposed to continuous high temperature, such as under the bonnet.

Glass-fibre reinforced grades are used in fasteners, radiator end tanks and structural brackets that replace metal parts. In electrical and electronics, flame-retardant formulations serve in connector and switch housings.
