EVA

Ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer — EVA grades across a range of VA contents, used where sealing, tack and flexibility are required in film and compound recipes.

Technical view

What is EVA and what is it for?

The single parameter that governs EVA behaviour is vinyl acetate (VA) content. At low VA levels (5–10%) the material behaves close to LDPE and improves film flexibility and sealing performance. As VA rises, crystallinity falls: the material softens, becomes clearer, and gains tack and adhesion to polar surfaces.

High-VA grades are used in hot-melt adhesives, solar encapsulation film and footwear foam; medium and low VA grades serve as the sealant layer in packaging film and as a carrier polymer in compound recipes.

  • Wide grade range by VA content
  • Low-temperature sealing
  • Adhesion to polar surfaces
  • Solar and hot-melt applications
