What is LLDPE · LDPE · HDPE and what is it for?
Polyethylene is the largest raw material in the plastics industry by volume and splits into three families by density and production route. LDPE is made in a high-pressure process and its long-chain branching gives excellent processability and clarity. LLDPE offers higher mechanical strength thanks to its linear structure; puncture and tear resistance increase as the comonomer moves from butene (C4) to hexene (C6) and octene (C8). HDPE provides stiffness, dimensional stability and a moisture barrier through its high crystallinity.
For a converter the real issue is less grade selection than supply stability: batch-to-batch consistency of the same grade, lead time and price predictability. Working through a direct producer channel with local stock prevents unplanned line stops.
Used across blown and cast film, sacks and bags, injection and blow moulding, pipe and woven applications.
